Say "no" to a Northern region pay cartel
On the back of the Government's regional pay agenda, NHS Trusts across the South West have set up a pay cartel with the aim of cutting pay, reducing annual leave, and changing other terms and conditions.
The RCN Northern Region is calling on all Trusts across both Cumbria and the North East to clearly state that they will not impose similar, unfair terms on you.
We have written to all Chief Executives of Trusts in our region, challenging them to reject the South West's approach. You can read the text of the letters here (Word, 124KB).
Latest Update: On 28 September 2012, the Journal reported that some of our region's NHS Trusts had announced that they were opposing any moves towards a regional pay cartel. You can read the news story here. We are continuing to seek similar reassurances from other Trusts across the region.
Want to get involved in the campaign? You can easily contact your local MP here, using our suggested e-letter, simply by entering your post-code. Regional pay is wrong and unfair. Tell your MP why and ask him or her to write to the Secretary of State for Health.
