Welcome

Welcome to the Cheshire East Branch of the RCN. Our experienced team of Stewards, Health & Safety and Learning Representatives (Reps) - who are drawn from a wide range of specialities including mental health, oncology, surgery, ITU and the community - provide valuable advice, help and support to members across the East Cheshire patch.  

They are all part of the Cheshire East branch, an active and forward-thinking branch which is passionate about representing nurses and nursing. The branch is always on the lookout for new and exciting ideas for branch meetings and educational events, as well as to recruit new members and build the branch. The branch has an extensive knowledge base and provides excellent peer support to new and old Reps alike. So if you'd like to become more active with the RCN, then please do get in touch.

The branch is composed of members from across the health care family, from Healthcare Assistants (HCAs), Assistant Practitioners (APs) and local authority staff, to registered nurses and students. The branch Executive team includes Jean Rogers, Janette Marchbank and Rosemary Wheeler.

North West Regional Board link

Each branch has a member of the regional Board who links in with them to keep them informed about Board activities, and provides an effective route to enable the Branch to feed information back. Branch meetings

  • Tuesday 26 March 2013,  4.30-6.30pm; The Pinewood Education Centre, Stepping Hill Hospital (room to be noted on the screen in the entrance). This meeting will also have an educational element to it,and Cat Forsyth will be talking about staff health and well being. Drinks will be provided before and after the meeting.
  • Thursday 27 June 2013, 4.30-6.30pm; Room G15, The Pinewood Education Centre, Stepping Hill Hospital
  • Thursday 5 September 2013, 4.30-6.30pm; Room G14, The Pinewood Education Centre, Stepping Hill Hospital.  Discussions will also be held to plan Congress 2014.
  • Annual General Meeting - Thursday 17 October 2013, 4.30-6.30pm; Room G15, The Pinewood Education Centre, Stepping Hill Hospital
