RCN Mentorship
The RCN Mentoring process has been designed to give Representatives (Reps) the support they need to build on the learning outcomes from Modules 1, 2 and 3 of the Learning and Development pathway, and to develop their practice skills in the workplace.
Mentoring will help Stewards, Safety Reps and Learning Reps get the best from their roles, and aims to:
- provide support and develop competence and confidence
- promote the strategic direction and the professional voice of the RCN across the region; and
- help develop Reps as a ‘model’ to members, encouraging them to in turn become active with the RCN.
Above all else, mentorship is about lifelong learning, and maintaining a desire to learn.
The new mentorship scheme is being implemented across the RCN and the North West region. RCN Reps can read and download all of the new mentorship documentation from the mentorship section in RCN activists. This provides more detail about the framework and how mentoring can help strengthen activist skills.
