My wealth of experience, both as past Council Member and Chair of the Board means I have gained knowledge and skills in governance, membership issues, forming strategy and decision-making. I am very familiar with the structure and management of the RCN.
I am in regular contact with members and as Branch Secretary I network with members and activists outside my own Trust. I also meet and network with activists across the Thames Valley Area and am able to engage in a two-way exchange of views between the Board and wider membership
The South East has the largest membership of any English Region and I have always pushed for sufficient funds to reflect this and to enable staff to deliver services to members.
Partnership is an important element of the Board's role, particularly with regard to work with the SE Management Team, Strategic Health Authorities, Government Office of the South East and other bodies. It is essential we remain aware of the strategies employed by these various bodies and how these influence and are influenced by strategies of the Board.
