As an experienced community practitioner and RCN Steward, I am concerned in fairness and equality for nurses.
At a local level I am involved in Agenda for Change, particularly the Knowledge and Skills Framework. I have concerns that nurses do not understand fully the issues involved and am working to "bridge the gap".
I particularly enjoy working with students and support and encourage evidence-based practice. I believe that planning and accommodating student placements in a positive and welcoming manner, can only lead to improvements around recruitment and retention.
I am an advocate for fundamental issues surrounding nursing, which we must never lose sight of; without structure we can not build for the future.
