Overview

Module one and module two

Within three months of accrediting you as a new representative, we will send you an offer of a place on module one. You will also receive the guide to the learning and development pathways for RCN representatives (PDF 1229KB), a regional information pack (PDF 155KB) and details of your mentor. Your mentor - usually an RCN officer, will work with you and the learning and development facilitator to provide you with the individualised support you need to become an effective, competent and confident representative. You will need to contact them to introduce yourself and decide how you are going to work together as part of the representative's learning and development programme.

Once you have successfully completed module one, you will be able to progress to module two (also known as the development module). You will need to discuss with your mentor which course is most suitable for you. To apply for any of these courses you need to complete the nomination form for module two. The form should be signed off by your mentor and returned to Pam D'Silva, email pam.d'silva@rcn.org.uk or Joanne Rosa, email joanne.rosa@rcn.org.uk . You will then receive a letter confirming your place and further information about the course.

The South East regional information pack (PDF 101KB) lists module one and module two dates.

Module three

Experienced representatives can undertake further learning and development through module three. Places are limited and available to representatives by nomination only. You need to complete the nomination form for module three. The form should be signed off by your mentor and returned to Pam D'Silva, email pam.d'silva@rcn.org.uk or Joanne Rosa, email joanne.rosa@rcn.org.uk. A letter of confirmation will then be sent to you if you have gained a place, along with further information about the programme. Details of module three and other CPD opportunities can be found in the CPD prospectus (PDF 1267KB).

The South East regional information pack (PDF 101KB) lists module three dates.
