We are delighted to, once again, be working in partnership with the Open University to run continuing professional development events in the spring of 2012. There will be an event for all of the nursing team; from health care assistants to nurse leaders. The events will be themed around the Principles of Nursing Practice and will offer something for everyone.
All events are open to RCN members and non-members and they are free. Places are limited so book early.
If you are able to promote these events on behalf of the RCN, please print this poster (PDF 44KB) and display locally for members.
Event details
Student nursing conference
The student event will be extremely useful for all student nurses, enabling them to review and develop their own understanding of the Principles of Nursing Practice. The event will help them to consider issues such as the importance of dignity and respect in care provision and how these principles enhance the patient experience. It will also cover discussions around their own accountability, encouraging them recognise their role as a ‘leader’ in care provision.
The conference will take place on the 13 February at the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.

Discussions will include issues such as the importance of dignity and respect and how these principles enhance the patient experience, as well as enabling them to explain and understanding their own accountability and recognise their role in care provision.
The conference will take place on 5 April at Lanhydrock Hotel in Bodmin. Unfortunately, the event taking place on 14 February at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust has been postponed until a later date.

Real life case studies will be shared by nurse leaders from within the region, and examples of how nurses have developed innovative solutions to providing care, will be given.
