Dear Chair of the Board

The pay cartel has now produced their report. It does no more than reiterate the current position of the nationally agreed pay system, Agenda for Change, giving information that our Human Resource department should already know. 

I believe that the trust has wasted £10,000 of public funds by joining the pay cartel and that in doing so you have damaged the trust and confidence of staff.  

I would like you to make a public commitment to your hardworking staff by formally announcing that our trust will also have no part in the future of the South West pay terms and conditions consortium (pay cartel), as Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust has recently done, and that you wish to return to open and transparent partnership working.

I believe that staff can offer solutions to help meet the financial challenge that the NHS faces and that you must start to work with us, through our recognised unions, to do this.
