About us

The West Midlands region is one of the nine geographical areas of England into which the RCN is organised. We serve more than 37,000 RCN members who work in the Birmingham and Black Country conurbations and the surrounding areas of Coventry, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire.

Our RCN branches

The West Midlands has a network of RCN branches based on recognisable areas within the region. Each branch has an elected executive committee, including a chair and secretary, as well as other members whose role is to provide information or advice or represent our members in the workplace.

Our regional staff

Our regional staff are employees of the RCN who work to support RCN members and activists and help deliver the organisation's strategic and operational objectives.

Our Council members

The West Midlands has two representatives on the RCN Council, the College's national governing body. Council members are the elected representatives of the region's membership. The Council is responsible for the overall governance of the RCN. The West Midlands' current Council members are Sue Fern and Sue Warner.

Our regional board

The West Midlands Regional Board advises and supports the regional director on matters of interest to the RCN in the West Midlands. Board members are elected to represent the regional membership.
