Celebrating Black History Month in the West Midlands

Welcome

Welcome to the first ever issue of the RCN’s Black History Month e-newsletter for the West Midlands.

It's October and in the UK, that means it's Black History Month (BHM).

Every year the RCN supports this grass roots initiative - in celebration of the multi-cultural heritage of our region.

Across the UK, the RCN will be promoting this month-long series of events to recognise the contributions of African, Caribbean and Asian people to the economic, cultural and political life of the West Midlands and beyond.

We hope you can join us at one of our engagement events specially for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) nursing staff at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital on 21 October and HOEM in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter on 27 October.

In the meantime, please click on the links below for more information and inspirational stories from our e-newsletter that showcase the contribution of people from BME backgrounds to nursing and healthcare in the West Midlands.
