Bradford and Airedale branch

Welcome to the Bradford and Airedale branch page. We are very fortunate in supporting some enthusiastic members and busy activists in our varied community and hospital situations, as well as from the independent sector. Our membership embraces a wide variety of nurse specialities and we are also the proud owners of the oldest RCN president insignia outside headquarters.

The branch produces a monthly newsletter which can be found on various noticeboards around the geographical area and available to download from this page. It is also sent to all who send their email address to the branch secretary, Elizabeth Evans, and includes an up-to-date list of our representatives.

Recruitment drives are held as often as possible in our general and psychiatric hospitals, community hospitals, and some community venues, as well as among the nursing students at Bradford University. We usually support students attending RCN Congress, especially when in Harrogate and support active members with some course expenses, etc.

The branch is represented on the Yorkshire & Humber Board; while the branch Chair, Anne Kennedy, is a member of RCN Council. In addition to our regular meetings, the branch is also planning a number of interesting events for a wider audience. Our meetings are alternated between Airedale and Bradford venues.
