Calderdale and Huddersfield branch

Welcome to the Calderdale and Huddersfield branch. The branch was formed in October 2008 when Huddersfield and Calderdale combined. It is in the early stages of development and aims to support members in the Calderdale and Huddersfield area.

The six members of the executive committee meet every two months and now includes a student member and a health care assistant to give the branch all-round representation.

Branch meetings are held every two monthly on alternate sites, usually in the respective learning centres. Suggestions for topics for future meetings and events are very welcome. One very successful event was recently held at Huddersfield University with a presentation on the RCN's Dignity package to some 40 student nurses. A mail shot to all the branch members was undertaken recently to try to identify topics and interests of members - especially those who are interested in becoming more involved and active within the branch. Responses have been favourable so far. A further mail shot is planned to target members working in the private sector.
