Chair of RCN Publishing Company Limited
The RCN is looking for a new Chair of the RCN Publishing Company Board to replace the current chair who is retiring in April 2011.
The RCN Publishing Company Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal College of Nursing, the world's largest organisation for nurses. It produces many journals including Nursing Standard, the UK's biggest selling weekly magazine for nursing. The company's annual awards celebrate the incredible contribution of nurses and health care professionals to improving patient care. To take on this opportunity you must have a track record at a senior level in the science, technical or medical publishing sector, with the vision to drive the business forward and explore new opportunities.
Your personal authority, sound judgement and strong decision making skills will make you an excellent ambassador for the company. You will also have a strong board level record and the experience to ensure that our board is effective in providing challenge to the executive and that the RCN receives full and timely advice on the company's business performance.
The appointment will be for an initial period of up to three years. Meetings of the board are held on a regular basis in London. The post is not remunerated although expenses are payable.
