Phase two
The second phase of our Legal and Governance Review is about updating our charter and bye-laws to make sure that they:
- reflect the new legal structure and meet all its legal and statutory obligations
- are designed to support and deliver the purposes and objectives of the RCN as a membership organisation, trade union and Royal College with a local, regional, country, national and international role
- reflect and represent the whole breadth of its membership
- safeguard and strengthen the voice of the membership in decision-making.
RCN members voted in favour of changing the Royal Charter and bye-laws at the RCN AGM 2010. For results of the vote and details of the proposals that were put to the membership, visit the AGM 2010 vote page.
The vote followed consultation with country and regional boards. Branches were also asked to look at the proposed changes and let us know what they think.
