What's the legal and governance review all about?
The RCN is reviewing its legal and governance arrangements to make sure they are fit for purpose and relevant to the way we work and our membership. The review is taking place in stages:
Phase one
To review our structure to ensure we comply with company, charity and trade union legislation.
Phase two
To review our governance arrangements to meet our requirements as a trade union and royal college and decide what changes to our constitutional documents, specifically our Royal Charter and bye-laws, would be required.
Phase three
To review the RCN rules that support the Royal Charter and ensure that they include the procedures and processes required for the successful governance and running of the RCN.
