Experience

• I have a broad experience of the RCN at all levels and understand its complexities; this is demonstrated through the range of committee I have served on.
• 10 years as an RCN Steward 1999-2009
• Chair of the Association of Nursing Students/Student Member of Council 2000-2001
• Agenda Committee Member 2005-2009
• Children's Nurse Education Steering Group 2003-2005
• London Board Member 2006 - present

Knowledge

• A wide knowledge of nursing and healthcare issues
• A thorough understanding of the complex relationships between the various parts of the RCN
• A knowledge of how Council works
• An understanding of issues relating to equality and diversity

Skills

• I have the confidence to challenge people in meetings to ensure accountability for actions
• I am confident in making presentations to large groups of people
• I am a good listener
• I am well organised and have took the lead on various complex projects within the RCN
