Ann Marie O'Neill

As a nurse with thirty years full time experience in many settings and nursing roles in the course of my career and as a RCN activist for the past thirteen years, I am thoroughly confident I can represent RCN members in Northern Ireland and the UK. I have served in a number of positions on the RCN Northern Ireland Board since 2001, as a board member, treasurer and board chair for the preceding four years since election to my first term on council. I have worked on my Trust's Staff Side committee in several positions during the past eight years including the role of Staff Side secretary. I presently sit on the Staff side committee as a RCN activist whilst also serving as RCN Council Member for Northern Ireland on the RCN's UK governing council. For the four years of my first term on council I have sat on the Membership Representation and Diversity Committee (MRDC) and been fully involved in the branch review as part of the MRDC. Additionally for the past three years I have sat on the RCN Audit Committee to enhance my skills in audit to fully represent my RCN members. I have worked with council to bring onboard our Healthcare assistants and Nursing Auxiliary Colleagues into the RCN family of nursing and have, with my branch officials, recruited more than sixty Healthcare assistants and nursing auxiliary new members to our branch. I remain fully committed to nursing and to all our RCN activists and members.
