Anne Kennedy
I am pleased to stand as a candidate for the RCN Yorkshire and the Humber Council seat having worked at clinical and senior management level during my career.
I practiced as a paediatric and general nurse in London, Leeds and Bradford and originally became an RCN activist in 1980. For 17 years I worked as General Manager, Children's Services at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust completing my managerial career as General Manager for Children, Clinical and Support Services. I recently returned to my nursing roots as a paediatric staff nurse on the bank in Bradford where I am an RCN Steward and Chair the Branch.
It has been a privilege to return to my activist role, putting my extensive skills and knowledge to good use in the clinical area and in my role as Board member Field of Practice, Children and Young People on the Yorkshire and the Humber Board.
I have the qualities and experience to fulfil the role of Council member for Yorkshire and the Humber. I worked in a leadership role across a broad range of services and have been an active participant in partnership working within organisations and across agencies in health and social care settings. I am a grass root activist who's clinical and leadership skills are up to date. I have a good working knowledge of issues facing nursing and nurses at all levels as well as a passion to make a difference.
