Beverley Jane (BJ) Waltho
My CV describes me as an enthusiastic, hard working and tenacious nurse with extensive clinical and general management experience spanning over thirty years. I believe these characteristics are vital pre-requisites for a Council member and would therefore enable me to fulfil this important role.
My current role as Associate Director of Operations in an Acute Trust means that, not only do I work with nurses and patients every day but also work with staff in the Primary Care setting. In order to do this role I have to ensure that our strategy accurate reflects what is really happening at grass roots level.
I have been active in the RCN throughout my entire nursing career, I am currently Chair of my local branch and prior to that was Chair of the Out Patient Forum for ten years. As a result of my work with Outpatients I was given the RCN Award of Merit in 2006.
I have represented RCN South West at the SHA on Lord Darzi's work and have also represented forums on the Congress Review Group. In addition, I am a Learning Rep and have arranged a number of Conferences for nurses and Health Care Assistants nationally and locally.
