Eileen Frame
I became an RCN steward in 1988 and a Health and Safety representative in the early nineties. My role as an RCN activist enabled me to become the first Employee Director in NHS Boarders in 2001, a position I held for two years.
This position gave me valuable insight into the Strategic working within the Health Board.
For a brief period after this I returned to my substantive post as a Charge Nurse in a Dementia Care Unit. Although I enjoyed my clinical work I had become so involved in staff issues and change processes that I had difficulty in balancing g both and hence returned to full time facilities working.
Since then I have been:
Chair of the Mental Health Partnership Forum
Co-chair of the Joint Staff Forum
Staff side lead for Job Evaluation
RCN Board Member
Chair of the Boarders Branch of the RCN
Latterly eKSF staff side facilitator
I believe the breadth of experience I have gained and the contribution I have made in these various roles would be invaluable in my contribution to the work of the Council.
I am wholeheartedly committed to the aims of the RCN. As Lead Steward my relationship with staff-side and management is excellent and my assistance and advice are sought by both.
