Pauline Pearsall
Following qualifying as a registered general nurse, I worked in the Operating Department in a busy acute hospital. I became interested in education, registered as a clinical nurse teacher for the Operating Department, ultimately becoming the department's manager. I became Assistant Director of Nursing and managed a wide range of acute specialties.
I now work in the Independent Sector as a Clinical Governance Manager; I am involved with all aspects of clinical and social care, and have a broad knowledge of the needs of nurses. and have a clear understanding of governance.
Nursing and upholding good nursing through lifelong learning is very dear to me and I am proud to have helped establish the recognition of the Learning Representative as an Activist. I Chair the UK Learning Representatives Committee, Regional Learning Representatives Committee, I sit on West Midlands Regional Board, a Steering Committee member for Nursing and Care Managers forum, all this gives me a clear understanding of the strategic way forward at Branch, Region and National level.
Given the opportunity to go that one step further by becoming a Council Member, I do understand the issues of the West Midlands and will ensure our voice is heard, ensuring the College uses members money wisely, campaign for better conditions for nurses working in the N.H.S and Private Sector.
I hope you will vote for me, giving me mandate to take your messages forward to Region and Council.
