Hamish Kemp
Candidate Email Address: h.kemp@btinternet.com
I have been active within the RCN for over 20 years, representing members locally, nationally and internationally. My activist role as a steward in the community keeps me at the frontline and in close contact with the members and the daily pressures staff face.
Representing, advising and supporting you, I have been able to develop and face the challenges that the rapidly changing health and social care system presents us all with. Listening to you and voicing your concerns as members and challenging decisions which affect you and your ability to care.
As a Regional Board member, I chair the membership sub group which developed the new branch structure, making your North West branches stronger and more able to meet your needs.
I have served on the UK Stewards Committee working on the development of Agenda for Change and Working Time Directive. Giving those of you working in NHS a fairer pay system and everybody better conditions.
My work on the Congress Voting Review Group and the new Activist Development Programme is testament to my belief that the RCN must remain as a membership-led organisation that is fit for purpose at all levels internationally, nationally and locally.
My skills, qualities and experience set out above will enable me to represent the needs of North-West nurses and I would be honoured to receive your vote.
Thank you
