Results for the RCN regional board elections have been recieved. Further details can be found on this page.
Board members have an important and influential governance role within their region, shaping strategies and determining priorities. In return for their commitment and expertise, board members will have an opportunity to influence the future of nursing and health care locally and nationally.
There were four safety representative seats up for election, one on each of the following boards:
- East Midlands
- Northern
- West Midlands
- Yorkshire & the Humber
There was also a steward seat elected on the Northern Regional Board.
The safety representatives and stewards on boards make sure that workplace health and safety issues or employment relations issues are addressed. In addition, they represent their country or region on the UK Safety Representatives' Committee or UK Stewards' Committee. These committees provide a network for the feedback of information to boards and local safety representatives and stewards, and advise on RCN policy.
