RCN Students Committee London and South West seat elections December 2011/January 2012
Students represent the future of nursing. As well as ensuring that students gain the attention they deserve, committee members play a key role in lobbying on behalf of student members and raising issues that impact on students at both a national and international level.
Elections are being held to fill two seats in January 2012:
- London (one seat)
- South West (one seat)

Voting closes - 20 January 2012 5.00pm

Seats available
This year there are ten seats were up for election:
- Northern Ireland (two seats)
- Scotland
- Wales
- East Midlands
- Eastern
- London
- Northern
- South East
- South West
The term of office is two years, except for one of the two seats in Northern Ireland. Here the candidate who comes in first place in the election will receive the longer term, and the candidate who comes second will receive the shorter term.

Election results
East Midlands:
- WOLLACOTT Gavin Elected unopposed.
- proposed by Philippa Sharp and seconded by Charlotte McIvor
Eastern:
- CURTIS Jessica is elected after COWELL Angela was found to be ineligible to stand in the election
Vote turnout: 5.3%
London:
- FISHER Edward Elected unopposed.
- proposed by Hannah Marriage and seconded by Laura King
Northern:
- WALTON Stephen Elected unopposed
- proposed by Scott Wilkinson and seconed by Benjamin Woolley
Northern Ireland:
- McATEER John and KELLS Stephen are elected after PATTERSON Colin was found to be ineligible to stand in the election and DENNISON Sarah-Louise withdrew.
Vote turnout: 5.5%
Scotland:
- WYLLIE Andrew Elected unopposed
- proposed by Anthony McGeown and seconded by Derek Clark
South East:
- PARKER Jayne Elected unopposed
- proposed by Kathryn Lancelotte and seconded by Karen Brown
South West:
- No nominations received
Wales:
- JONES Anna-Marie 49 votes.
- proposed by Michelle Morgan and seconded by Rosie Griffiths - YOUNG Sadie 54 votes. Elected.
- proposed by Tamara Morgan and seconded by Kieran Cooper
Vote turnout: 4.9%
