What is the term of office?

Unless otherwise specified Students Committee members will be elected for a term of office from 18 April 2013 to 31 December 2014.

The Welsh seat is being elected due to a vacancy occurring mid-term. The term of office for this will run until 31 December 2013.

When are the elections?

7 January 2013 – opening of nominations
8 February 2013 – close of nominations
11-20 February 2013 – verification that candidates are eligible to stand
21-22 February 2013 – publication of candidates details on website
8 March 2013 – dispatch of voting papers (electronically)
12 April 2013, 5pm – close of voting
18 April 2013 – announcement of results
18 April 2013 – new members take up office

Who can vote?

All student members in the region/country concerned are eligible to vote in this election. 

How does voting work?

Student members vote for the person whom they think will best fulfil the role of Students Committee member for their region/country.

Voting will be conducted electronically. Members will receive an email from the independent scrutineer, Electoral Reform Services Ltd, with a link to a voting website. Members will be encouraged to provide the RCN with a valid email address in advance of the election in order to take part
