Corporate group structure

The RCN was incorporated by royal charter in 1928, has limited liability and is governed by its Council.

The RCN is a certificated Trade Union and files its accounts with the Trade Union Certification Officer.

As it is a trade union, the RCN is not wholly charitable, so the Charter body of the RCN is not a charity. Instead there are two charities within the RCN and for all intents and purposes, Council members act as charity trustees and the accounts are also filed with the Charity Commission.
