RCN Council

The RCN represents nurses and nursing, promotes excellence in practice and shapes health policies. The RCN was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1928 and is governed by its Council.

Council is responsible for the overall governance of the RCN and acts as the organisations conscience in delivering its statutory purposes. Council members are the elected representatives of the membership in their Country or Region. They also act as charity trustees and uphold the RCN's compliance trade union legislation.
