RCN elections 2008
Election of RCN President, Deputy President, student member of Council and ANS Executive
Nominations for the election of the RCN President, Deputy President, Student Member of Council and ANS Executive have now closed.
There will be elections for the President, Student Member of Council and one ANS seat.
President
The candidates for President are Maura Buchanan, Yvonne Dyer and Alison Twycross.

Deputy President
Bobbie Chadwick was elected unopposed for a second term as Deputy President.
Student Member of Council
Claire Evans, William Morgan and Mark Perry are the candidates for student Member of Council.

ANS
There is an election for the ANS seat in Wales - Mark Perry and Claire Evans

- Philip Schneider was elected unopposed to the East Midlands seat
- Susan Tiry-Ward was elected unopposed to the Eastern seat
- Damian Ronksley was elected unopposed to the Yorkshire & the Humber seat
Background and electoral procedure
Elections are now taking place to elect the RCN President and Deputy President; there is also one seat for a student member of Council and there are seats for a two year term of office on the ANS Executive for Eastern, North West, Northern Ireland, Scotland, West Midlands, Yorkshire & Humber regions, plus one seat for a one year term of office in the East Midlands. Each of these elections is carried out separately but concurrently.

The term of office of the President and Deputy President is two years, commencing at the end of the Annual General Meeting in October 2008. The current President and Deputy President have each served only one term and so are eligible to stand for one further term.
