Nominations for the RCN Award of Merit and RCN Fellowship
Do you know of a member who has made an exceptional contribution either to the advancement of nursing and/or healthcare or to the work of the RCN?
The call is out for nominations for RCN Fellowship, Honorary Fellowship and also for the Award of Merit. These honours are awarded by Council and will be presented at the 2009 Congress in Harrogate.
Fellowships are awarded to RCN members who have made an exceptional contribution to the advancement of nursing and/or health care through leadership, practice development or academic achievement.
Honorary fellowships are awarded to nurses registered outside the UK of international repute and distinction who have made an exceptional contribution to nursing and/or healthcare, or to individuals who are not nurses but have had a significant impact on nursing and/or healthcare.
The Award of Merit is given in recognition of exceptional service to the RCN. Recipients must have acted in a voluntary not a paid capacity. They do not have to be nurses.
Any RCN member (except employees of the College), Board, Branch or National entity can nominate someone for one of these awards.
The closing date for receipt of nominations is Friday 28 November 2008.
