Trade Union Governance Group

This group acts as a regulatory mechanism for the UK committees (the UK Stewards’, Learning Reps’ and Safety Reps’ Committees), making sure that good governance practices are adhered to, that the voice of the UK committees is heard by MRC and Council, and that the work of the committees helps the RCN meet its strategic objectives. The group reports to the Membership and Representation Committee (MRC).

Its main responsibilities are:

to represent the views of the RCN representatives to MRC
to ensure that the UK committees work within the reporting and decision making framework and that the work of the UK committees reflects the strategic objectives and priorities of the RCN
to ensure that good governance, financial processes and practices are adhered to by the UK committees.
