Andrea is a registered nurse, midwife and senior lecturer. Her main interest lies in acute surgery, public health and health care planning. She has spent 30 years in the nursing service spanning a vast range of surgical and medical services and academic leadership. She has an academic interest in legal and professional issues in health care and is currently working in developing new services and new working environments to support the patient in every aspect of service delivery in a new build project.
Andrea has held various posts at staff nurse and sister level including general surgery, oesophageal varices unit, vascular surgery, breast cancer services and gynaecology. Andrea has held various posts overseas in Dar Jerba, Greece, America and occupational health on cruise liners. She recently worked as a Clinical Strategist at Health Care Projects Social Infrastructure.
On a personal level she lives with her husband and her sister-in-law, who has learning difficulties and has been a treasured part of the family since the death of her father. Andrea has one son, Philip, who has recently finished university and is now working in London.
