Carol has worked in mental health nursing for 26 years and currently works as a senior substance misuse nurse for young people. She helped to set up the substance misuse team and has been instrumental in establishing policies and protocols for this complex work. Her areas of expertise include substance abuse and pregnancy, acute mental health and cognitive behavioural therapy.

Carol is an active member within the RCN. She has been an RCN representative for 11 years and is currently branch secretary for Cambridgeshire. At Congress 2009 she proposed a resolution for the legalisation of prostitution.

Carol is also a trained HappyNurses coach and is passionate in supporting other nurses through difficult times and helping them to achieve their goals.
