David Cardwell

David is a Health Practitioner member of RCN, representing the College’s HCA and AP members. He qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) since 2005, and currently works at the Weston General Hospital, Weston super Mare, in their Anaesthetics and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit. During his career David has also been a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, and a Warrant Officer in the Army Cadet Force.

David enjoys acting as a mentor for student nurses, ODPs, HCAs and APs. He has been an RCN member for 10 years, and in this time has been a Health and Safety Representative, Perioperative Forum Committee Member, and the Somerset Branch Executive Officer.
