Rachel started as a health care support worker in 1995, and has been a registered nurse since 2000. She currently works for the Southern Health Foundation Trust as a Band 7 Community Matron, a role which involves looking after a practice population of 56,000 across seven GP surgeries. In 2011 Rachel won a Trust Star Award for empowering and inspirational leadership.

Rachel’s main area of expertise lies in adult community nursing, and she has been and RCN member since she started as a student nurse in 1997.
