Stuart is a newly qualified nurse having studied at Birmingham City University. He has sat on the RCN Student Committee for the previous three years as the West Midlands Representative and in the last year as Student Member of RCN Council and is now the Chair the RCN Students Committee.

Within his role on Council, he represents students on MRC (Membership Representation Committee) and is Vice Chair of the Business Committee.

He continues to raise the profile of students and health care assistants within the College, and particularly wants to encourage them to become activists at a local, regional and national level.

Stuart is passionate about communications and the power of social networking to get students involved in nursing issues. He regularly contributes to RCN publications, blogs, and to the Facebook page.

After seeing many areas of care in his time as a student, he has started to work within an Orthopaedic hospital and hopes to continue his studies post preceptorship around spinal care.
