Helen Donovan

Helen began working at the RCN as Public Health Adviser in September 2012 and supports the Public Health Forum.

Helen qualified as a general nurse at the Royal Free Hospital in 1986 and subsequently qualified as a midwife and then a health visitor with a specialist public health nursing degree (BSc Hons) and a Masters in Education (Med). She has had a wide breadth of experience including general nursing, midwifery, practice nursing, health visiting and specialist health protection.

Helen has experience of working in local authorities and leading on various health protection public health priorities and projects. She maintains a senior health protection nurse role in London specialising in immunisation and chairs the London Immunisation Leads Network Group. She is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire and City University.
