Representative of the Year Awards

Acknowledging those who go above and beyond

Do you know representatives that have gone that extra mile?  Has someone made a real difference to you and other members in your workplace? Who has shown true commitment, dedication and support?

Why not nominate them for the Representative of the Year Awards? Members can put forward the names of representatives for the following categories:

Nominations are closed for this year, but check back on this website around October/November 2013 for the information about the 2013 awards. In the meantime read the information below about who can be nominated and how to write a successful nomination.

Who can be nominated?

Please note that nominations for the 2012 awards are now closed.

We want to hear about accredited RCN representatives who have made a difference in their workplace. These representatives will have demonstrated outstanding achievement and commitment to the RCN and to the members in their workplace. This may include improved health and safety in the workplace, pioneering a new learning initiative, resolution of workplace issues or disputes, or achievements in representation and consultation.

Please note that members of the UK representative committees are not eligible for nomination as they judge the award.

How are successful applicants recognised?

Those who are selected to receive an award will be invited to attend an awards ceremony at RCN Congress. The next Congress will be in Liverpool in June 2014.

The awards are sponsored by LV=, the RCN’s approved provider of consumer insurance products.  The prize for each award winner is £500, while commendees will be awarded £250. Members who nominated the winner will receive £100, and those who nominated a commendee will receive £50.
