Campaigns in Scotland

RCN Scotland campaigns on issues which affect nursing and health. We work with a range of partners and networks to raise awareness and to keep the pressure on politicians and other opinion formers to take action.

Better for nursing

We campaign for a better deal for nurses, health care support workers and nursing students.

We have just completed a three-year campaign, Right for Nurses, Right for Patients, which made the direct link between improving the conditions of nurses and the quality of care delivered to patients. Further details of the campaign and its achievements can be found in the Right for Nurses, Right for Patients section.

Improving health

We campaign to improve the health and well-being of all those living in Scotland today.

No to parking charges

We have launched a summer campaign against car parking charges at NHS premises. There are other ways to tackle congestion. Punitive charges are not the answer. Details of how you can get involved in the campaign are in the No to charges section of this site.

Housing

We have signed up to a campaign co-ordinated by the housing charity, Shelter Scotland, to raise awareness of the impact of bad housing.  Further details can be found at the housing coalition website.

UK-wide campaigns

RCN Scotland also plays a full role in the RCN's UK-wide. Find out more about these in the RCN campaigns section of this site.
