Statment of intent
The RCN Wales R&D Network is established to promote nursing, midwifery and health visiting research and development in Wales and to support RCN members who are engaged in research and development in Wales. Membership of the network is free and open to all RCN members. Network activities are co-ordinated by a steering group whose membership and terms of reference can be found in the appendix to this statement.
It is the intention of the RCN Wales R&D Network to
1. Widely inform and involve RCN members of the network’s activity and actively encourage them to join.
2. Develop the network to reflect the demography of RCN membership across Wales.
3. Develop collaborative relationships with health and social care stakeholders across Wales
4. Promote debate about the nature of nursing, midwifery and health visiting research and development within the context of:
(a) Wales and the Welsh language
(b) Multidisciplinary research
5. Promote the preparation of nurses, midwives and health visitors in Wales in order to facilitate their research and development.
