Education

The RCN's Education adviser provides professional advice and support to all local RCN members. The role includes supporting RCN officers in providing information and expertise with respect to issues related to education and continuing professional development issues.

This role is a new one and links into a national RCN group that has as its focus developing and strengthening RCN educational policy. In this respect the education adviser takes forward issues important to RCN members living and working in Wales.

Working with forums

Establishing links with members through forums, and relevant organisations, the education adviser seeks to identify educational and learning issues that concern RCN members. Within Wales and the UK, the RCN will ensure members are consulted and kept up to date with policies relating to education and practice.

The role includes consideration of issues that span both formal and informal learning across pre- and post registration, by focusing on issues identified by members outlined in the RCN presidential taskforce for education.

Working within the RCN Institute in Wales, the education adviser will work as a member of the team to promote learning and its contribution to excellence in nursing practice.
