Apprenticeships
Reflecting the population profile of the local community
There are a number of ways in which we raise an awareness of our vacancies and applications from people from the local community within our regions.
We are committed to providing employment and training opportunities to the local community. We are engaged in the Apprenticeship Programme as part of the Local Government National Training Organisations’ Workforce Development Plan.
The programme provides the opportunity for on-the-job-training, and study for a nationally recognised qualification such as an NVQ while being paid over a fixed-term period. It is based upon a partnership arrangement between regional offices and local colleges and will cover two levels of apprenticeship. Once recruited, the region and the apprentice will have a written agreement where we will guarantee to provide employment or a training placement for a fixed-term period during which time there is also an obligation to provide training.
For information on apprentices please contact the recruitment team at recruit@rcn.org.uk.
