www.cancernursing.org

www.cancernursing.org is an online cancer care education site developed, presently as a voluntary project, by oncology nurses, other specialist health professionals and e-learning experts.

The site provides free access to professional courses, accessible at any time, place and pace, and is aimed at anyone involved with cancer care. The first course was on oesophageal cancer and a six-module course on syringe drivers was recently launched. Courses on cancer of the stomach and ovary, pain and symptom management, and PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) care are currently being produced.

It’s easy to navigate, instructions are clear and, although the text is small for my failing eyesight, the pages of content you have to scroll through is generally kept satisfyingly small.

The Graseby course has interactive tests to review your knowledge and, while perhaps basic to experienced or specialist nurses, they provide useful revision. Optional activities allow you to examine and reflect upon your practice and keep findings in your personal learning log.

A very good site that will prove to be a useful personal and professional resource!
