Rehabilitation in cancer care

Thursday, 4 and Friday, 5 April 2013
Explaining how diagnosis and treatment may impact upon the rehabilitation of the cancer patient. The course will explore why people with cancer and those receiving palliative or terminal care can benefit greatly from rehabilitation techniques. Fee: £175 or £100 per day (£150 for both days if booked before 1 March 2013). 

Biological basis of cancer therapy – training

BBCT examines the science behind all forms of modern cancer treatment, covering cancer biology, clinical pharmacology, radiobiology and medical statistics incorporating The Royal College of Radiology’s FRCR syllabus for those taking their part 1 examinations.

IV study days

Our clinical skills team offer a series of training sessions focusing on intravenous administration. They are also available to provide bespoke sessions based on your needs. Please email iv.team@christie.nhs.uk for further details.

Communication skills – training

The Maguire Communication Skills Training Unit has 30 years’ expertise in communication skills research and training. Our team of expert facilitators delivers a wide range of training suitable for all levels of staff, individuals or organisations.

Orientation study days

These study days are for all newly recruited nurses to the field of oncology and cover chemotherapy, radiotherapy, palliative care and oncological emergencies. The content is aimed at qualified nurses but other allied health care professionals are welcome to attend.
