Break the Chains of Child Hunger
Every hour of every day 300 children die due to a lack of basic nutritious food. Malnutrition accounts for a third of all child deaths - a staggering 2.6 million children every year. For those that survive, malnutrition can be a life sentence as it stops their brains and bodies developing properly and limits their young lives.
At May's G8 summit, David Cameron has an opportunity to free millions of children from a life sentence of hunger. With nutrition already on the agenda, we need to let him know how important it is that he seizes this chance to save children’s lives.
Save the Children are asking RCN members to take part in their 'Break the Chains of Hunger' campaign, calling on David Cameron to help push nutrition up the global agenda. Sign up and show your support by clicking here or following the link below.
In addition, they are inviting all RCN members to take part in a global Skype conference on Tuesday 8th May to launch the global State of the World's Mothers report. Hosted by influential mothers from around the world, the conference will look at the global impact of malnutrition on women and children and key recommendations for governments and leaders.
