Purpose and objectives

Purpose

• We are a group of nurses with a special interest in CYP palliative care.
• We aim to promote peer support through regular contact and exchange and sharing of ideas, thereby increasing awareness of current practice.
• Through the discussion and dissemination of relevant research and innovation we will enhance evidence-based practice and raise the profile of CYP palliative care.
• Promote collaboration between related groups and professionals within health social and voluntary care settings.
• Influence national standards, polices and practices in relation to CYP palliative care

• Complete and publish competencies
• Newcastle workshop
• Present at fringe at CYP conference in September
• Development of website
• Project planning with CYP Cancer Nurses Community on specific palliative care issues

2010-11

• Succession planning for roles within community
