She is motivated and committed to explore challenges faced within community practice to provide visible and accessible service for children, young people and their families.

Rachel Lyles

Rachel has spent the last eight years working within the community setting, spanning both primary care sectors and acute care led outreach provision.

She worked as a sister on a busy children's unit for six years within the acute sector before transition to community care.  This involved a range of surgical, orthopaedic and medical conditions and children with both acute and complex health needs.
Her community practice has spanned the urban and rural communities; in particular multi-cultural societies and the challenges this may pose.

Her passions include developing partnerships with children, young people and their families and therefore voicing the issues which are of paramount importance to them.  Rachel has been currently working with multiple agencies to develop improved services for children with palliative care needs.
