Purpose and objectives

Purpose

• Provide a recognised national voice for nurses working with children in care, influencing and lobbying external organisations.
• Promote and develop high quality evidence-based nursing for children in care.
• Provide opportunities for leading and practice development for members.
• Provide opportunities for networking, peer support and sharing best practice.
• Provide a resource for expert advice.
• To create links with other communities within the CYP Field of Practice.

Objectives

2009-2010 and 2010-2011

• Bid for help with database
• Email alert system to alert members to alterations to website
• Event to support launch of reissued guidance – promoting health of looked after children
• Encourage community members to engage with local RCN groups and activities e.g. learning representatives
• Network with other Royal Colleges re competencies framework
