Purpose

We want to increase knowledge and understanding of safeguarding. This will enable members to:

• recognise and respond to neglect and abuse
• influence policy at local, regional and national level.

Objectives

2009-2010 and 2010-2011

Project bid: e-learning for specialist safeguarding

• board level safeguarding leads
• nurses working in isolation
• named and designated nurses and midwives
• practice nurses/dental nurses
• independent hospitals i.e. BNA
• occupational health (private)
• independent school nurses
• other hard to reach groups of nurses.

Contributing to re-writing of Working together to safeguard children.

Contributing to re-writing of intercollegiate document.

Programme of government consultation and advice giving so can plan advice rather than giving advice without discussion.
