Lesley Coles

Head of Nursing for Women and Children’s (W&C) Clinical Service Centre plus a corporate role as Head of Children’s Nursing (0-19yrs), Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.

Lesley started her nurse training as an enrolled nurse in 1978, at a London Hospital. She then completed her registered general nurse training in 1983. In 1985 she qualified as a rRegistered sick children’s nurse in Carshalton, Surrey. Since 1985 she has worked in a variety of settings, mainly caring for children with medical conditions. She became a ward sister in Nottingham in 1987 and moved to Portsmouth in 1989 to take up a senior sister role. In 1994 she became the senior nurse until Sept 2009 when she acted into the operational management role (Paediatrics) and became the head of children’s nursing services.
