Forum study day a firm success

Held last November at the Royal College of Physicians, London, with the theme ’Diabetes and tablets – choices and dilemmas’, the forum’s last study day went incredibly well.
The programme started with registration, exhibition viewing and Forum Chair Grace Vanterpool’s opening speech. This was followed by forum members Jill Hill and Maureen Wallymahmed, who gave a talk on type 2 diabetes: setting the scene and managing cardiovascular risk in type 2 diabetes, respectively.
Thereafter, Mags Bannister’s lecture used a case study approach to underpin the use of NICE guidelines to choose the right treatment for the right patient. The issue of obesity continues to gain press attention and Karen Crudginton delivered a speech on weight management. At the end of the day, Grace Vanterpool gave closing remarks.
Diabetes Forum committee members were in attendance, along with some RCN staff, notably Conference and Events Organiser Suzanne Sinclair. The event was a huge success and the evaluations were extremely positive.
